2400 class Photos

The 2400 class was built by Commonwealth Engineering (ComEng) at Rocklea, QLD.
The first unit was in service in 1978. There are 80 units in the class, numbered 2400-2423, 2450-2467 and 2470-2507.
They have a 12 cylinder EMD 12-645E engine.
They weigh 92 tonnes and have 1500 HP available for traction.
Some were rebuilt into the 2300 class.
